The Powerhouse Museum has made some improvements to their Australia Innovates section of their website.
The site views 9 parts of an innovation cycle and provides case studies for each.
At the end of each case study there are links to other sites and resources in addition to stimulus question for use with students in different stages.
Of course, this is in addition to a selection of significant innovations developed by Australians in the century since Federation – worth a look! A great activity for your students might be to browse the list of innovations, investigate one that interest them and then present a short review of the innovation to the class. A valid way to talk about innovation with your kids whilst developing their skills in communication – maybe even a small assessment opportunity.
If you have content or ideas, that you would like to see covered on the site i would prefer you replied to this thread so hopefully it will spark others ideas.
This link will take you to the web page as it stands. Have a look ad let me know how Andrew and i can make it work for you.

I found this article regarding innovation . The article is a good prompt for more thought and discussion. It is imaginative but it helps to illustrate the point - how do we come up with new ideas? How do we learn to think outside of normal parameters? How to daydream, invent, engage with the absurd.

I don't know if this has come up before ...ever wanted to walk through your 3D buildings or examine your prodesktop files in a browser? All you have to do is save your 3D content as vrml file (In ProDesktop ...file - export - vrml) then open the file in your browser - easy! Just install Cortona VRML viewer for the browser you are using. http://www.parallelgraphics.com/products/cortona/ I think there are other free viewers but I haven't looked up details. You can also embed the images into your wab pages. http://www.parallelgraphics.com/developer/products/cortona/html I found display homes and famous city sites where you can do a virtual walkthrough, and plenty of 3D objects for viewing. This is so easy!

Open up YouTube to the video you want.
In the URL address add the word kick in front of the word YouTube (is that a word?).
eg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMcfrLYDm2U
becomes http://www.kickyoutube.com/watch?v=pMcfrLYDm2U
After you insert kick, click enter.
This opens the video up in Kick YouTube.
A top banner lets you select 'go'.
The go button then becomes a 'down' button (as in download).
You are then asked the typical questions like where you want it saved.

I stumbled on an excellent looking site put together by the Korean Institute for Design Promotion. It has a very similar look to HumanScale and you can browse through a wide range of dimensions and postures. The main headings are in Korean, but the key aspects are shown in diagrams so it is possible to actually make use of the site, particularly if you are familiar with the Humanscale templates. I haven't yet checked the numbers but I suspect they reflect a Korean population. It is worth a look at
